Finishing Touches
Heading to Tom Coleman’s Porcelain Workshop in Henderson, Nevada tomorrow. I pulled the final pieces from the bisque kiln this morning, wrapped them carefully into their boxes, and everything is packed up and ready to go. I will be documenting my road trip and sharing highlights from the five-day intensive workshop. Here’s what my preparation looked like:
Prepare pieces for Tom Coleman’s April Workshop
Bring 20 pieces
4 tea bowls measuring 4.5” or 5" across x 5” tall with a smooth surface
4 tumblers, and or mugs measuring 3 ½ ” across x 5” tall with a smooth surface
4 tumblers, and or Mugs measuring 3 ½ ” across x 5” tall with some sort of carving into the surface
2 - 3 taller forms (bottles, vases) up to 14" tall
5 other pieces (no plates or low bowls)
Look at doing tea bowls with texture for use with Experimental Shino
Bisque to cone 010
Put together a glaze plan for each piece
Spraying Translucent Slip
Black Magic Slip
Experimental Shino
Copper Red and/or Copper Red White Snow
Purple, Celadon, etc.
Decoration White with Brush Work
